Air Sealing NJ
We air seal every job.
Every gap around pipes, wires, and light fixtures gets closed up before insulation goes in.
What we seal.
Top plates
The top of every interior wall connects to the attic. That gap runs the full length of the wall.
Recessed lights
Each one is a hole through the ceiling into the attic.
Plumbing stacks
Every pipe that passes through has a gap around it.
Wire penetrations
Every wire, junction box, and cable run.
Duct chases
Large open cavities built to hide ductwork.
Attic hatch
The access point itself is rarely sealed or insulated.
Air sealing is included in every insulation and restoration job. It is not an add-on.
Why it matters.
Your attic floor has dozens of small gaps. Individually they seem minor. Added up, they can equal one to two square feet of open space to the attic.
Heated and cooled air moves through those gaps constantly. The EPA estimates that sealing them can reduce heating and cooling costs by 15%.
Insulation slows heat transfer. Air sealing stops air movement. Both need to happen for either one to work properly.
