The short answer

Attic Fanatics does wildlife removal across Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Raccoons, squirrels, bats, birds, rodents: humane removal, every entry sealed with steel mesh, cleanup when the attic needs it. The number comes from the inspection, not a phone quote. Free inspection, written estimate first; same-day generally available when the schedule allows.

Why Delaware County Properties Attract Wildlife

The mature trees and wooded lots that make Delaware County attractive to homeowners also make it attractive to wildlife. Squirrels use overhanging branches as highways to your roof. Raccoons raid garbage cans and then move into attics for the winter. In Delaware County's suburban landscape, wildlife encounters are a when, not an if.

In established neighborhoods, one home with a wildlife problem often means the whole block is at risk. Animals don't recognize property lines.

Animals We Handle in Delaware County

Squirrel Removal

Squirrels may look cute, but they're relentless chewers that can destroy your attic. They gnaw on wood, wires, and pipes constantly because their teeth never stop growing. One squirrel chewing on electrical wires is a house fire waiting to happen.

Signs in Your Home

  • Scurrying and scratching sounds, especially morning and evening
  • Chew marks on wood, wires, or plastic vents
  • Small droppings (like large rice grains)

Damage They Cause

  • Chewed electrical wires (leading cause of attic fires)
  • Gnawed PVC pipes (water damage)
  • Destroyed insulation used for nesting

Raccoon Removal

Raccoons are one of the most destructive animals that invade attics. They tear through insulation, rip up ductwork, and leave behind animal waste. A single raccoon can cause thousands in damage within weeks.

Signs in Your Home

  • Heavy thumping sounds at night (they're nocturnal)
  • Visible damage to soffits, vents, or roof edges
  • Large droppings (similar to small dog)

Damage They Cause

  • Destroyed insulation (R-value loss = higher energy bills)
  • Contaminated attic requiring professional feces cleanup
  • Chewed electrical wires (fire hazard)

How We Remove Animals in Delaware County

  1. 1

    Thorough Inspection

Our wildlife specialist examines your Delaware County home top to bottom - roofline, attic, fascia, crawl spaces, and foundation. We identify what species you're dealing with and map every point of entry. No cost, no pressure.

  2. 2

    Humane Removal

We match our removal method to the animal: one-way doors for squirrels and bats, live traps for raccoons, exclusion devices for colonies. Everything is humane and legal under Pennsylvania wildlife law. Poison is never part of the plan.

  3. 3

    Exclusion & Prevention

After removal, we seal your home against re-entry. Heavy-gauge steel mesh, metal flashing, and industrial sealants at every entry point. We match materials to the animal - what stops a mouse won't stop a raccoon. The work is documented so you know exactly what was addressed.

Delaware County Wildlife Removal FAQ

Free inspection. No obligation.

How do you remove squirrels from an attic?
One-way exclusion devices are the gold standard - squirrels leave to forage and can't get back in. We then seal every entry point with galvanized steel mesh. For large colonies, we combine exclusion with live trapping. Flying squirrels require different techniques due to their colonial behavior.
Is animal removal covered by homeowners insurance?
Typically no - most policies exclude wildlife damage. Some policies cover the resulting damage (like destroyed insulation or chewed wiring) but not the removal itself. We recommend contacting your insurer while we handle the wildlife.
How do you handle bat colonies?
We use one-way bat valves that let bats leave but prevent them from returning. Once the colony has fully exited, we permanently seal every entry point. Bat guano cleanup is also available through our attic restoration services.
Should I call about animals under my deck or shed?
Yes. Animals under decks and sheds eventually find their way into your home - especially groundhogs, skunks, and opossums. We can exclude them from under structures and prevent them from migrating to your attic or crawl space.
Are you licensed for animal removal in Pennsylvania?
Yes. Licensed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission for animal and rodent control. Fully insured. We handle everything from raccoons to bats professionally and humanely.
